I was out in front of the hill at Monk’s Down in June 2015 to gain separation from the crowd of slower paragliders, some of whose shadows are visible here. I caught a thermal low down.
Hang gliding and Paragliding (formerly Low and Slow, renamed Ground Skimmer, then Hang Gliding) is the world’s foremost hang gliding periodical. It was subsequently renamed USHPA Pilot.
The photo taken with Grant C trying out my glider also made the cover of Hang gliding and Paragliding.
I took the 2017 hang gliding calendar cover photo in July 2016. Bell Hill, our primary flying site in north Dorset, is visible on the right in line with the keel tube. The light squiggly line is the track to the top. The light-colored object at the base of the hill is a chalk pit.
Notice the shadow of the camera on the undersurface of the sail here.
